Research

The traditional area of scientific research at the Organic Chemistry Department is the chemistry of heterocyclic compounds (Professors Volovenko Yu.M., Khilya V.P., Voytenko Z.V.). Relatively new directions of the research are the synthesis and applications of fluorescence probes (Prof. Pivovarenko V.G.) and the development of chemical tools, in particular, building blocks, for early drug discovery (Dr. Grygorenko O.O.).

The Department is equipped with to-date analytical instruments, for example, an NMR spectrometer (Varian 400 MHz for protons) or a CHNO/S analyzer VarioMicro (Elementar Gmbh).
